ac1remake:

On November 13th, 2007, Ubisoft released Assassin’s Creed for PlayStation 3 and Xbox 360. This year it celebrates 10 year anniversary. To mark it, I thought we could have a month (October 13 to November 13) dedicated to the game that planted the roots for this franchise.

– How you can participate:
Simply to put, create and share. You can do anything you wish. Fanart, gifs, graphics, fanfiction, videos… Anything you would like to that relates to the original game. You can even just simply discuss the game, share your favourite moments, tell a story of how you first played it, etc.

I also tried to make an Anniversary Challenge (check it under read more), so if you don’t have any clear ideas, you can follow it, get some inspiration or make your own based on it.

– How to share your creations:
Post it here on Tumblr and make sure to put ‘ac1am’ in the first five tags of the post. You can also submit to this blog.

If you have any questions, you can send me a message at any time. Also, feel free to spread the word around and share this post. See you on October 13th!

What were your thoughts on the AC movie? I heard critics panned it as garbage but I was wondering if there was any future of the story itself within the movie. Disclaimer: I haven’t watched it yet. I think its available on HBO so I may give it a watch.

I wrote a short review about it before (note: spoilers from the movie are mentioned).

If you don’t want to read spoilers, I would say the movie covers the main conflict between the Assassins and Templars, but fails to delve deep into it despite “slow scenes” where they could have given a better explanation so audiences that never played the games wouldn’t be too lost or frustrate the fans.

I’m not entirely sure what you mean by “any future of the story.” If you mean if the movie will be mentioned in the games, then yes. It was confirmed that the movie is canon as it predominately follows the modern day story, but they would have to cover quite a lot of missing information that was not addressed in the movie if they decide to mention it in the games.

Also, I recommend reading the novelization of the movie after watching it (it’s written by the author that wrote Unity’s Employee Handbook and Blackbeard’s journal). But you might find yourself disappointed that a lot of information in the book didn’t make it to the final cut of the movie.

Shaun: Hello! Hi. Shaun Hastings here. Ah, just popping in for a moment to remind you that you have got a rare opportunity here to really live the past, you know? The sights, the sounds, the smells, the, uh–the tastes….

And you know on the subject of taste, I can’t help noticing but you have wandered into a pub. Oh pubs… eh? Did you know that Victorian London was home to almost four thousand pubs? Well, it was and most of those pubs brewed their own beer.

Actually, um, I just had a little thought. If you were to say… I don’t know, sample your ancestors’ memories of some lovely beverages and Rebecca can always–you know–process those DNA strings and make them available to other users. Purely, you know, for archival purposes, of course.

Rebecca: What he’s saying is he wants you to drink old booze and email the taste sensation to him… and somehow he’s roped me into helping him do it.

Shaun: This is a legitimate historical inquiry.

Rebecca: Hey, if you wanna digital baby birding from the recruit, I’m not gonna stop you. In fact, I’d rather not get anywhere near that.

Shaun: Yeah… yeah, alright. Yeah, yeah, lovely. Ignore her. Drink beer… for history!

RE: Something to think about — Have you watched the “Into the Creed” documentary video that was released a few weeks ago? What did you think of it?

I thought the documentary made a good point about how you will always find people who cannot understand what you’re into. Regardless of your passion–whether it be video game related or not–there’s no point of explaining to them what you’re into, especially if they’re not willing to understand it. It’ll only cause unnecessary frustration if you try.

However, you will also find people who do understand and share your passion. Whether you contribute very little or exceedingly, these people are happy to have you in their community. Hopefully they will give you the best memories or help you through the bad moments in your life. As one of the fans said, move on from those who can’t understand and go find and surround yourself with like minded people.
