I’m curious, do you read any of the books or comics that come out because one of the comic book series (Uprising) that’s just started that is said to finish up the Project Phoenix plotline and I wouldn’t mind checking it out, just curious what you thought of it, if you read it.

Usually I wait for a comic series to finish mainly because I hate waiting for the next issue… but it looks like some of the series are not ending anytime soon, lol.

I’ve only read The Fall, The Chain, and Brahman so far, and I’m currently reading the novelization of the movie. I’m probably going to read Assassin’s Creed: Assassins next since Uprising is a relaunch of that series.

Is it me or have you been feeling a disconnect with the AC series lately? I feel like these past three years now we haven’t had a riveting story as Edward Kenway’s. Do you think ubsioft will bide its time to tell a story that will better incorporate modern day as well as the past?

Personally, I don’t feel disconnected to the series. I think I’m so confused to the point that I’ve read through the official encyclopedia and Assassin’s Creed Wikia and watched some people playthroughs so many times just to make sure I haven’t missed anything, seeing if my “theories” make sense, or just fact-checking (the last one everyone should be doing these days, regardless of the subject).

In that sense, I think many people saying Edward’s story was one of the most compelling probably has to do with the fact that it’s the “least Assassin’s Creed” game out of the series–at least 80% of the game is him being a pirate, and doesn’t “become” an Assassin until Mary dies (which is still debatable since he doesn’t become a Master Assassin until he was pardoned from piracy). Also, his story is pretty much the only one with a closure without having to heavily rely on other AC-related media (like those abominable novels).

And to answer your second question, if they aren’t taking the extra +1 year working on the modern day portion of the story (especially when it seems like they sent out a survey regarding it not too long ago), might as well have Juno “save [us] all”, if you catch my drift.

I have a head canon that Bishop is actually Desmond’s mom. Bill Miles seems to trust her and Rebecca knows who she is, but has been sworn to secrecy partially because it would destroy Shaun to know that (after all, we saw the way he was talking about Desmond in Syndicate).

I think she’s too young to be his mom (though her age is never confirmed), but maybe. I do like Harlan’s theory of her possibly being a defector of Erudito though.

Re: Something to Think About – What do you think of the scene in the AC Movie where Cal sees Assassins of ages past? Are they all his ancestors, or just random Assassins? Do you think Arno (who could clearly be seen) is one of Cal’s ancestors? Do you think this new version of the Animus will be featured in the next game?

I think it’s both his and the modern-day Assassin ancestors and possibly Assassins that have come in contact with the Apple of Eden. My friend believes one of the Assassins in white was Connor (though it’s not confirmed). So if it really was him, he can’t be related to Cal as Connor is Desmond’s ancestor. However, he came in contact with the Apple in AC3. Also, there was a deleted scene from the movie that was released the other day that showed another familiar Assassin who’s also confirmed to be not related to Cal.

As for the Animus, I think it will be mentioned, but I doubt it’ll make an appearance in the next game. They’ll most likely continue the concept of the Initiate (i.e. you) using the Helix software to relive the memories of an Assassin or used the Animus mentioned in Heresy (which I have yet to read).
