Leonardo: Ezio…? You are still alive!

Ezio: Look at this place! The past two years have been kind to you.

Ezio: I was hoping you might be able to help me with something.

Leonardo: Aha! You’ve found another! How exciting!

Happy birthday to one of the most talented and influential artist/scientist that ever lived!

Leonardo: There. It’s finished!

Ezio: Hmm? What’s finished?

Leonardo: The blade! I managed to decode that parchment of yours. It showed me exactly what to do. Now all that’s left is to remove your ring finger.

Ezio: Really?

Leonardo: I’m sorry, but this is how it must be done. The blade is designed to ensure the ‘commitment’ of whoever wields it.

Ezio: Bene. (Fine.) Do it quickly.

Leonardo: I was only having fun, Ezio!

Though the blade once required a sacrifice, it’s been modified. You can keep your finger.

Leonardo: So, Ezio, what do you do?

Maria: He’s been working for his father.

Leonardo: Ah! You’re to be a banker?

Ezio: For now. And you? Art, was it?

Leonardo: Truth be told, it’s been difficult for me to settle. Painting is nice, but I often feel like my work lacks… I don’t know… purpose. Does that make sense? I’d rather contribute more practically. More directly, Architecture, perhaps. Or anatomy. I’m not content to merely to capture the world. I want to change it.

Maria: Oh, Leonardo! I have no doubt you’ll go on to do great things!

Leonardo: Vi ringrazio, Madonna. (I thank you.) That’s kind of you.
