So listening to the complete soundtrack of Syndicate, I’m noticing how ominous it tends to be, there’s a lot of focus on the strings and it feels very dank and lifeless while at the same time painting the image that yes, this is Victorian London. I like that each game has a soundtrack that makes you understand where you are without even having to play it.

I agree. I remember Lorne Balfe saying something like music has a very long list of things put into it aside from inspirations and research to make it personable as each game has vastly different color, sound, character, and world. I’m sure all the AC composers–or music composer in general–are big history nerds that share their knowledge and passion through their work. Like what you find on guitar picks and Hot Topic buttons say: “When words fail, music speaks.”

RE: “Give me something to think about” post — What do you think of an entire flagship AC game taking place entirely in the Modern Day setting? Good idea, bad idea, sortakindamaybe idea? :)

Definitely a sortakindamaybe idea at the moment mainly because I don’t know the direction the story is heading since AC3. I try not to think too much about it because all it would give me is an annoying headache, aha.

Who knows, we might see a game taking place in the present day very soon now that there’s a talk of no more yearly releases when it returns.

idk if u pay attention to them at all but i like to imagine after berg’s disasterous evil-villian-im-about-to-kill-you speech to harlan that he now brings up the fact that berg has dreams about him any time they interact or even something he knows the templars will find he just does everything in his power to do little things that he hopes will annoy and he gets shit a lot for not taking stuff seriously from people like gavin and bishop or even galina but secretly they all think its hilarious to

I bet Arend is so delighted to know that the man on his shit list has dreams about his husband. It simply motivates him to deck Berg as soon as he finds the chance, LOL.

I was just wondering, what’s your general opinion on the Chronicles series. When China first came out, I thought they looked interesting but they didn’t really seem to get my attention but now with the other two out, I’m actually kind of interested in seeing how they play and if they tie into the overall story of the series.

I think it’s a pretty neat spinoff to the series overall. Chronicles is one of those that interests older fans that know and love Shao Jun, Arbaaz, and/or Nikolaï and want to know more about their story (like a certain Assassin from the American Revolution period but probably not as obsessive). And it’s also a good way to introduce the newer fans the “lesser known” Assassins and their connections to the main characters/story, even if it seems pretty minor. I’m almost done with Russia, so I’m interested the overall connection to everything. Wish the controls didn’t make me want to snap my controller in half.
