Okay, so I have two requests. (I already searched through the character’s tags, so unless I’m mistaken, please redirect me.) Firstly, are you able to post the full dialogue scene where Connor and Haytham are talking about what the Templars strive for? And secondly, are you able to post Jacob’s ‘it’s a bloody marvellous time to be alive’ and his talk about capitalism from the trailers? Thank you.

Connor and Haytham’s conversation is here. I’ve posted “Let’s wake them up then, shall we?” here. I rather not post the entire dialogue because of quality issues.

Regarding those anon asks about the books and how you feel they’re more like Abstergo versions of the true story, I feel that will always be my justification for how Unity felt, it’s historical inaccuracies, it’s general portrayal of the assassins, the microstransactions and generally the whole feel of it make it seem like you’re actually playing the Abstergo cut of the game and since you’re technically playing on the Helix system, it wouldn’t be that far off.

I couldn’t agree more.

Damn lizard people with their funny hats and talk of world domination.

I just saw your “Give me something to think about” post, and I’m not sure if I’m sending this the correct way?? But anyways, here goes: I really want to see an eventual Assassin-Templar alliance to defeat Juno at the end of the series. And somewhere along that storyline, we’ll catch glimpses of Arno & Elise as well as Connor & Haytham, to pay tribute to their efforts in trying to establish that alliance.

Just send whatever tickles your fancy, my friend.

There’s no “correct” way. (:

That was my second original thought about how the series was going to end. While I do like to see an eventual (and successful) alliance of the two, I feel like that would rather be a cliché way to end it especially where the modern day story is heading.

My first original thought was something similar to the time travel thing that was almost made canon, essentially where Desmond would’ve acquired all of his ancestors’ powers and whoop Juno’s ass. Of course, that’s not going to happen since he kind of expired… unless his son is the one that will take his place. Again, that would be a cliché thing to do.

Honestly, I don’t have much of an idea of how I want it to end or how it’s going to end. In fact, I’m not going to care about until they announce the end of the series. For now, I’m just happy that Syndicate was done pretty well and hoping the next one is going to be just as great.

OK. Last ones regarding the novels because my disappointment can’t get any worse.

Oh my, dear Anon. You did the regrettable thing and read the book first. ): Though I can’t blame you especially the former is easier to purchase. Wish I can buy every one of you the games for that matter.

Anyway, I do know that the author receives a very rough draft of the games’ script and basically gets told to go crazy with it (I think that was explained in an interview he did or on his website). So yes, there will be quite a bit of inconsistencies and pulled out of the ass fabricated information. However, the way they are presented comes off as ostentatious. And I can’t stand that whether it be in a book or a speech.

I think the second Anon describes the books perfectly; they are essentially the product of Abstergo Industries…like Liberation! (maybe that’s why people tend to forget or dislike that one.)

Oh crap. I ordered the Black Flag book last week and I’m waiting for it to come. Reading all these posts saying that Oliver Bowden’s writing is shit is making me regret getting the book because it might ruin the game for me.. ffs

Yeah, don’t take my word or anyone else’s word to heart about the books. A lot of people actually do enjoy the books. I believe I’m one of the very few that do not (I’m waiting on someone to give me shit over it). It really depends on what your preference in writing style… along with the kind of books you’re into.

Seriously, you’re talking to someone that read the Twilight series… and doesn’t like Mary Shelley’s Frankenstein.

I read all six books by Bowden and I riff them on Twitter. His writing is pretty bad and I still wonder why they hired that guy. I’ve keep off reading Underworld because the last time Bowden dealt with a fan fave character, he murdered him in a gruesome way. Check out my Tumblr.

My god. I want to give you a high five and a huge reward for reading his books. I can’t even get through one without the fear of my face being permanently stuck cringing.

I prefer to ignore Bowden’s Forsaken because: 1) it’s so ooc of Edward to be sexist towards Jenny to whom he really wanted to be a good father 2) he makes characters suffer just in order to make Haytham oh so lonely(Jenny in harem, Holden castrated… Wtf?) 3) writing is not so good. He has nice moments but overall… Meh 4) Haytham spending YEARS on the farm. Really? He was like a successful Templar I thought? 5) Haytham saving Connor is the reason I read the book and the only good thing it has

I’ve only read Revelations and Forsaken and an excerpt of Black Flag since it was in the game, but the Forsaken was definitely the biggest disappointment for me. So much good potential wasted because of inconsistencies and mediocre writing. I’m the type of person who reads books all the way at the end no matter how bad it is, but I was never able to get through Revelations and Forsaken. I couldn’t stop rolling my eyes or cringing at many of the passages… and this is coming from someone that has read the notorious sparkly vampire series (the reason for it would be for another time). I admit that some parts of the books has good and informative things that was left out or never explained in the games, but they either get lost or glossed over by obscure and unnecessary details that follows before and after it.
