I think it’s one of the points in life where you’re bound to have a lot of conflicting feelings regardless how much of a progress you have made. You may feel at ease first, but suddenly get anxious for a few hours or days before feeling contempt. There’s nothing wrong with it. That’s just how life works. Hope that good feeling stays with you though!
(Again with rambling under the cut. Feel free to keep sending messages, however)
I remember back in high school, so many “adults” use to scare us about these kind of things (many still do), saying things like, “You need to go to college, you need to get a job, you need to know how to do this, you need to do that, blah, blah, blah…” They believed that they were being helpful, but I honestly believed that they were doing more harm than good, as if we’re going to be torn to shreds because we didn’t expect any of this to come into our lives.
Perhaps it may be the case to some people, but that necessarily doesn’t mean everyone. Yes, we do need to go to college… but that’s not for everyone. Yes, we do need to get a job if we want food to eat, clothes to wear, and a roof over our heads… but not everyone can get one so easily or quickly.
I think what’s good about our generation is that we have a lot more resources than before. Internet is possibly one of the greatest thing ever invented and introduced. It helps you find ways to earn money, whether it be job listings or selling items you have or made, tells you how to get started on things like creating resumes and getting health insurance, teaches you things like how to cook, the list can go on. Sometimes the searches are fruitless, but it’ll always be there especially helpful when you don’t have people like your parents close to you.
“Adulting” can be fun, stressful, favorable, miserable, easy, difficult, good, bad… you can’t let settle down to one thing. Everyone has their own approach and methods to it. As long as you know what to expect, understand that everything’s not going to be a smooth sailing, but have the will to make changes, good things will bound come across your way. (:
