Anonymous #1 – I have a friend in Brazil who complains about that and there was recently an article about Nintendo discontinuing their distribution in Brazil.

Anyway, I’d say a YLOD is unavoidable after +5 years (mine is reaching that point and I’ve been backing it up like crazy). You can do the thermal paste replacement if it does get a YLOD, but it’s not guaranteed it’ll last another +5 years or if it really is the old thermal paste that’s causing the problem.

Anonymous #2 – Yes, PS Now is game streaming. I haven’t try it myself, but from what I read it’s a monthly subscription where you can rent and play PS3 games on your PS4. Downsides are that not all PS3 games are available for streaming and you can only rent, not buy.

Also, PS4 is not and will never be backwards compatible – i.e. you can’t insert a PS3 game disc in a PS4 and have it work – unfortunately. That’s pretty much the reason why people are saying don’t sell your old consoles for a next-gen.
