(oh do you think a dryer could burn it?) if you were me, what you would do to fix the ps3? and don’t worry, you can say anything because i’m so desparate. i saw on facebook that paid 500 bucks to fix it and then it didn’t work (idk how they fix it). my dad is trying to find a guy to fix it but i just don’t trust. there’s my friend who wants to fix but idk yet. argh so anxious here, there’s some games that i didn’t play yet :( and thank you for all the responses!

Unless you or someone like your dad is able, you should take it to a professional that can diagnose the problem and fix it. (Though not from Facebook. $500 and not being able to fix it sounded like a scam, to be honest.)

Give us all the sad AC music! More feels, please. Anything sad that comes to your mind.

allsoundsasscreed:

This one is pretty sad.

This one too.

You’ll need some tissues for this one.

Here’s another tearjerker.

Oh no, the FEELS.

You hear that? The sound of your heart shattering.

Toilet paper might be a better option than a tissue for this one.

Your heart won’t be able to handle this one.

This will have you wailing until the end of time.

Your tears will save my town’s lake from drought with this.

Remember this one? Your tear ducts do.

so if it’s a motherboard malfunction from overheating, it’s possible i to have a permanent solution if i send to fix it? my friend said it’s “burn” but still doing the 3 bips. and another friend said that i should open it, clean it and change the thermal paste. do you think it will fix it? (sorry for so many questions about that! i’m just so anxious because of that :()

The thing about the YLOD is that you really don’t know what’s wrong with your PS3 until you start fixing it. You can try changing the thermal paste if you think that’s the cause of it… and I don’t THINK there’s any harm to changing it if you decide to do so. It’s kind of like replacing an old worn out band-aid on a wound with a fresh one. (I know. Poor comparison. I’m sorry.)

Again, it may or may not be a permanent fix. Your best bet is have it looked at and repaired by a professional. If the problem is beyond what I mentioned and the pro’s repair, then you would have to buy a new system unfortunately.

i used the dryer in my ps3 slim and it did work but just after 2 days. because of that, do you have an idea what is the cause of the problem and if can fix it?

(Please note that I only know this from personal experience and what I researched online.)

Assuming you used a dryer for the reflow method, it might be due to a motherboard malfunction from overheating. What you basically did with the dryer is remelt the special paste on a defective chip and reattach it to the motherboard. Which is one way of fixing it, but it’s probably not permanent.

so i can’t fix my ps3 after he gets ylod? if i fix it or buy a new one, how can i avoid it?

YLOD is a major hardware failure and there are several causes of it: overheating, bad power supply, critical HDD error, or a malfunctioned motherboard (which is what happened with my first one). Depending on what caused YLOD, you technically can fix it but it’s not guaranteed that it’ll last long after. It could be as simple as cleaning out all the dust inside the system, or as complicated as reflowing the motherboard.

As to how to avoid it, there’s no certain way but I suggest doing things like keeping the console dust free and in an open area, let it cool after few hours of gaming (give yourself a break too, unless you want poor eyesight like me), and unplug it when not in use. Saves energy, environment, and your console. These are not guaranteed method to prevent YLOD, but it’ll keep your PS3 in good condition.
