Haytham: Do you swear to uphold the principles of our order and all that for which we stand?

Charles: I do.

Haytham: And never to share our secrets nor divulge the true nature of our work?

Charles: I do.

Haytham: And to do so from now until death – whatever the cost?

Charles: I do.

Haytham: Then we welcome you into our fold, brother. Together we will usher in the dawn of a New World. One defined by purpose and order. Give me your hand.

Haytham: You are a Templar. May the Father of Understanding guide us.

Leonardo: This world gets stranger every day. I shall have to focus on my painting. I work on the small portrait of a woman. I am growing rather fond of it.

Ezio: Do not let a beautiful girl distract you from constructing my designs.

Leonardo: Have no worries. Women provide little distraction.

Altaïr: Tell me, ‘Master’, why did you not make me like the other Assassins? Why allow me to retain my mind?

Al Mualim: Who you are and what you do are twined too tight together. To rob you of one would have deprived me of the other, and those Templars had to die. But the truth is, I did try. In my study, when I showed you the treasure. But you are not like the others. You saw through the illusion.

Altaïr: Illusion?

Al Mualim: That’s all it’s ever done, this Templar treasure, this Piece of Eden, this word of God. Do you understand now? The Red Sea was never parted, water never turned to wine. It was not the machinations of Eris that spawned the Trojan War, but this! Illusions, all of them!

Altaïr: What you plan is no less an illusion. To force men to follow you against their will!

Al Mualim: Is it any less real than the phantoms the Saracens and Crusaders follow now? Those craven Gods, who retreat from this world that men might slaughter one another in their names? They live amongst an illusion already. I’m simply giving them another, one that demands less blood.

Altaïr: At least they choose these phantoms.

Al Mualim: Or do they? Aside from the occasional convert or heretic?

Altaïr: It isn’t right.

Al Mualim: Ahh. And now logic has left you. In its place you embrace emotion. I am disappointed.

Altaïr: What’s to be done then?

Al Mualim: You will not follow me, and I cannot compel you.

Altaïr: And you refuse to give up this evil scheme!

Al Mualim: It seems then that we are at an impasse.

Altaïr: No! We are at an end!

Al Mualim: I will miss you, Altaïr. You were my very best student.

Oh woah now, I think revelations is the best game out of the trilogy of AC2 but I also think Brotherhood was the weakest one :/

I think Revelations had better platforming out of the two, but the story felt like something they could’ve been made into a DLC. Sure we got a closure to Altaïr’s story (although barely) and Clay’s story (if you played The Lost Archive), but Ezio’s “quest” really didn’t progress much from what we knew then. As for Desmond… I was already sorry for the guy before his demise in AC3. He’s in a coma not being able to do much while his dad and friends are like, “Yeah, shit is pretty bad.” Then he finds Clay and is like, “I fucked up and I didn’t even know…”

As for Brotherhood, I think it was weak because there was so much focus on the multiplayer that little happened in the main storyline and it kind of suffered at the end (sound familiar?). The “Call Assassins” feature was pretty great though… even if it kind of got tedious at times.
